Aevi are the payment platform on a mission to Set Payments Free.
In recent years, Aevi have blossomed from disruptive startup to leading players in the fintech space. Their offering has also transformed. After initially specialising in hardware, a cloud-based payment platform now sits at the centre of their offering.
While the business matured, its brand failed to keep pace, Aevi needed a strategy and identity that celebrated its new positioning – and the possibilities it offered.
We began by speaking to experts from all corners of the Aevi business to redefine their brand strategy. Firming up their brand drivers, mission and attitude.
During these workshops, we learned that 80% of transactions still take place in person, yet 260 million payment devices are no longer fit for purpose, limiting transaction flows and creating gaps in data. This led to our brand idea of ‘setting payments free’.
Taking our cue from Aevi’s new mission, we built an extensive visual identity with all the freedom and flex needed to cover the huge range of situations the payment platform is used across.
Light and springy – with a movement that’s loose rather than linear, the identity is informed by the lines and shapes found in currency symbols. These monetary flourishes link the logo, icons, and the instantly recognisable personalised font.
To add some distinctive character to Aevi’s new voice, we worked closely with our friends Colophon to develop Aevi Basis. An eye-catching font that hints at both the logo and the brand idea.
Avoiding the sea of blues that wash over the fintech space, we opted for a differentiating palette that evokes the openness and positivity of both the brand and the people who power it.
With the new brand in place, we created a new Aevi website. The UX design ensures each of the company’s five primary audiences are pushed towards the information relevant to them, while the UI and transitions bring the brand’s sense of movement and freedom to life.
